Apple’s latest iOS 18.4 update has brought an unexpected problem for a few iPhone users: deleted apps and games are mysteriously reappearing on their phones. User reports on Reddit and Apple’s Community Support forums suggest that apps uninstalled months or even years previously have reappeared on their home screens after the update.
No pattern seems to be associated with the Automatic Downloads feature that downloads apps bought on other Apple devices. Most affected users claim to own only one Apple device, making cross-device syncing an impossibility.
The only solution currently known is to once again manually remove the reappeared applications by hand. Apple has not yet recognized the problem or issued an official remedy, though it is hoped that a patch will soon be issued in response to this issue.
